Rural North Okanagan residents and businesses will have improved access and faster Internet.

The provincial government is providing funding for a new connectivity project being jointly funded by ispeed Communications.

“This investment will make Internet access a reality for the first time in some rural Okanagan communities and improve existing connections for others,” said Eric Foster, Vernon-Monashee MLA.

Communities included in the program are Mara, Grindrod, Enderby, Trinity Valley, Armstrong, Westside Road, Vernon, Coldstream and Lake Country.

The provincial government will be funding half of the $370,000 project, which also involves communities in the Central Okanagan.
