Shopaholics can unite in Vernon for Shop Local Day.
A downtown-wide customer appreciation day will be held Saturday.
Not only will there be deals, giveaways and events at more than 25 participating downtown Vernon retailers, but you can leave the change at home, or the pay-by-phone app off, because there will be free parking downtown-wide.
“This is a prime opportunity to take advantage of steep discounts offered by local business owners,” said Dudley Coulter, events and marketing co-ordinator with the Downtown Vernon Association.
“When you shop local, you are not only supporting the local economy but local families too.”
Some businesses have upped the ante for Shop Local Day.
For instance, A&E Community Markets and Consignments is offering a $25 gift certificate to anyone who walks into the store and says ‘I love to shop local.’
