There will be free transportation to a major celebration.

Free public transit will be available in Vernon during RespectFest, a multicultural festival Sept. 23.

“The festival will take place in downtown Vernon at the Civic Plaza and Spirit Square, and will include performances, singing, dancing, and food vendors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.” said Tanya Laing Gahr, the city’s communicaitons officer.

“The city will provide free transit during the festival to improve accessibility to and from the event, and manage traffic and parking demands in the downtown core.”
