UPDATE: A hang glider caught in a tree has been taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

The incident occurred nine to 10 kilometres west of King Edward Road in Lavington.

“It was challenging to find him,” said Pete Wise, with Vernon Search and Rescue.

“He was down over a bank, into Cougar Canyon. It’s very steep terrain.”

Efforts are underway to assist a hang glider.

As of 4:41 p.m. Thursday, Vernon Search and Rescue members are responding to a hang glider who became stuck in a tree nine to 10 kilometres west of King Edward Road in Lavington.

“He’s on the ground and a helicopter is on the way because he has sustained some injuries,” said Pete Wise, search manager.
