Lumby firefighters were faced with a major emergency Friday morning.
Reports came in of a residence on fire at the Valleyview Mobile Home Park on Lumby-Mabel Lake Road at 8:33 a.m.
“It was completely engulfed upon arrival,” said Tony Clayton, fire chief.
On top of this, another mobile home sustained extensive damage while other unit was also impacted.
“There was a concern about it spreading. There was a grass hillside 20 feet behind the residence,” said Clayton.
To handle the situation, the BX-Swan Lake, Lavington and Coldstream fire departments provided assistance as did a private water tender.
Black smoke can be seen hanging over the neighbourhood.
The cause of the fire is not known and the incident remains under investigation.
