The search has been suspended for a man missing near Lumby.
Bruce Van Hasstrecht, 57, who residents in Alberta, went missing from a cabin in the 3500 block of Mabel Lake Road April 1. It’s believed he may have entered the lake.
“Underwater recovery completed a two day search of the water and underwater sonar was completed Saturday and Sunday. Vernon Search and Rescue conducted further searches on those days as well. There were negative results,” said Cpl. Dan Moskaluk, with the RCMP.
“The search is suspended for the time being and it will be reassessed as water temperatures and levels change.”
On April 1, ground and air crews searched the area around the cabin.
