A new chapter is unfolding for the Downtown Vernon Association.

The agency, which promotes the downtown core as a destination, has hired Susan Lehman as executive director.

“Susan has arrived in Vernon with some fresh ideas,” said Melanie Prince, DVA president.

Lehman comes to Vernon from the Edmonton area, with experience in economic development, tourism and community programming, communications and marketing, business and personal finance, and experience as an entrepreneur.

“I want to continue to build on the vitality of downtown Vernon,” said Lehman.

“I hope to help to create and sustain economic prosperity.”

Along with Lehman, Dudley Coulter has been hired as marketing and events co-ordinator and existing employee Dina Mostat has been promoted as director of member services.

“We have a really great team in place,” said Prince.
