A Naramata resident suffered some shell shock Monday afternoon after finding a mortar round in his front yard, not far from his house.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth said the man was trimming his hedge in the front yard of the Third Street property when he found the shell dated 1945.

Members of the RCMP explosive device unit attended about 10:30 p.m. and disposed of the device.
