O’Keefe Ranch is preparing for its busiest month of the year.

Opening Saturday, the historic site invites the community to attend Family Daze in the Corn Maze, an event for all ages featuring a brand new, two-acre corn maze to explore.

“Family Daze is suitable for young children and grandparents too. It’s not terrifying like Field of Screams,” said Glen Taylor, general manager.

“The corn maze has scary props but there are no live actors in our daytime events, we keep that element for Field of Screams. Family Daze is intended to give everyone another chance to visit the ranch, have some outdoor fun, share the space with family and friends, and enjoy the harvest season.”

The Balmoral school house and general store will be decorated for the occasion and the Ranch is offering pony rides for children and tractor rides for everyone. Kids can climb on the spider web, take part in an art activity in the O’Keefe Kids Korner, or have their face painted in the spirit of the season.

Admission to Family Daze in the Corn Maze is $10 per person or $30 for a family of five. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every weekend in October (there is no event Oct. 29). Food trucks will be onsite as well.

“The corn maze is an annual fundraising event at the O’Keefe Ranch. Proceeds support the care and maintenance of the historic buildings, collections and artifacts, and to aid educational opportunities for the public,” said Taylor.
