Body found in BX; police believe death ‘suspicious’

RCMP from the Southeast District’s Major Crimes Unit and B.C. Coroner’s service are investigating the discovery of a body in Vernon Thursday morning.

Shortly before 7:30 a.m., the Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP detachment was called to a report of a body being found near the intersection of Wilson Jackson Road and Jordashe Road, both of which are near Keddleston Road in the BX, off Silver Star Road.

“Following the initial examination of the scene, the death of the individual has been classified as suspicious in nature,” said RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk Thursday afternoon.

“Investigators from the Southeast District Major Crimes Unit are currently on scene and are continuing the investigation.”

Moskaluk said no further information regarding this matter is being released at this time.
