After taking flight at the Allan Brooks Nature Centre, the Raptors are returning to Vernon for four more days in September.

RespectFest flight demonstrations will be held daily Sept. 21 to 24 at 11:30 a.m. and encounter courses will be held Sept 21 to 23 at 2 and 4 p.m. daily. The Raptors will also be in attendance at Allan Brooks Nature Centre’s Wine and Wild Things Gala Sept. 23 at Sparkling Hill Resort.

“One of the main themes of RespectFest is respect our land and environment. What better way to express that theme than with these amazing birds?” said Vicki Proulx, ABNC events and communications co-ordinator.

“It’s not only incredible to see these birds fly so close to you, and to hold them, but the Raptors organization and Allan Brooks are really about education. We want people to learn about these amazing creatures and grow an appreciation for nature in the Okanagan.”

Funding from the federal government allows ABNC to offer the RespectFest flight demonstrations free to the public but you need to register ahead through https://respectfest2017.com. Encounter courses are also available to purchase for those wanting to get up close to the birds.

Tickets are available for all events at www.abnc.ca.
