A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the robbery on Tuesday afternoon of the CIBC bank in downtown Kamloops.

RCMP Cpl. Cheryl Bush said the man was arrested on Tuesday night and will appear in court on Wednesday on charges related to the 2:30 p.m. robbery of the bank at Victoria Street and Third Avenue.

She said the suspect is known to police.

A man entered the bank, showed a note to aa teller and demanded cash before walking away with some money.

The bank robbery came less than 24 hours after a nearby motel was robbed by a man with a pistol.

“The investigations into this incident and a robbery at the Howard Johnson Hotel from the evening of April 10 remain ongoing at this time to determine if they are related,” Bush said.
