There’s a plan for extending sewer in Okanagan Landing.

The strategy, which was approved by Vernon council Monday, will allow servicing of several priority areas starting as early as 2018.

“It is contingent upon successful local service petitioning, with the remaining areas to follow over about 10 years,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, the city’s communications officer.

The phasing plan starts with petitioning for sewer local area service in the Willow Park and Dallas areas in the fall of 2017, with Claremont and Cameo areas planned to follow early in 2018.

“Construction for these initial areas could start as early as 2018,” said Laing Gahr.
