Skilled trades students in the Vernon School District will benefit from provincial funding.

The district is receiving $180,610 over three years to purchase heavy machinery, trades equipment and media arts equipment.

“We are making these investments to give high school students a great starting point on their journey to a career in the trades,” said Eric Foster, Vernon-Monashee MLA.

“These young men and women will be a key part of tomorrow’s workforce in our province and we want them to be at the front of the line for the almost one million job opportunities opening by 2025.”

Fifty-nine chool districts are receiving youth trades capital funding over the next three years, 42 of which are in rural B.C.
