There are more opportunities to hear from the candidates in Vernon-Monashee.

Three forums are scheduled as voters in Vernon, Coldstream, Lumby and Cherryville prepare for the May 9 election.

On Tuesday at 7 p.m., there will be a forum at Vernon Secondary School hosted by the District Parents Association, the Vernon Teachers Association, and CUPE 5523.

“Are you interested in the future of education in B.C., join us to learn about where our candidates stand on this important issue,” states a release.

An all-candidates forum will also be held at the Vernon Performing Arts Centre May 3 at 7 p.m.

“Audience members will have the chance to submit questions into a draw box before the forum as well as during a brief intermission,” said Keelan Murtagh, executive director.

”The moderator will also take a live question from the audience.”

Doors open at 6 p.m. and there will be two portions about 45 minutes in length, with a 15-minute intermission.

The event is free but non-perishable food items will be collected for the food bank.

And on May 4 at 6 p.m., Independent Living Vernon will host a forum at the People Place.

“The focus is on issues pertaining to people with a variety of disabilities,” states a release.
