Vernon police locate stolen Saskatchewan vehicles

Two men arrested in connection with theft from border town of Lloydminster

Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP helped solve a crime that originated in Saskatchewan.

Lloydminster RCMP received a complaint Oct. 28 of two stolen trucks, a trailer and a skid steer from the city’s industrial area.

Vernon RCMP located the vehicles and some of the stolen property, and two men were arrested.

The pair, aged 41 from Lloydminster, Alta., and 25 from Vermilion, Alta., were charged with two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possessing a prohibited firearm and two counts of unsafe storage.

One of the men was also charged with three counts of breach of probation.

Both men were remanded in custody pending their next appearance in Provincial Court in Vernon on Nov. 23.
