ORIGINAL STORY

Some Mabel Lake Water Utility customers will be without service for about nine hours on Thursday.

Due to planned construction work, water supply will be turned off for a number of residences on Walker Road on May 12, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The water shutoff could be extend past 6 p.m. if unforeseen circumstances arise, said the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO).

“It is suggested that you store a short term water supply for cooking and toilet use before the interruption,” the district said in a press release Tuesday.

Residents may see some cloudiness or air in the water once service has been restored. If so, they should run a cold water tap closest to where the water enters their residence at low volume until the water has cleared.

Questions can be directed to the RDNO Utilities Department at 250-550-3700.
