A Lumby area wildfire has crews remaining vigilant.

As of Thursday morning, the Cooper Creek blaze was 4.7 hectares in size after 11 firefighters had tackled the blaze Wednesday as well as helicopters and air tankers.

“More firefighters returned to the incident Thursday,” said Justine Hunse, an information assistant with the B.C. Wildfire Service.

The blaze is not showing aggressive behaviour and the cause remains under investigation.

On Wednesday, the Regional District of North Okanagan cancelled the evacuation alert for homes along Cooper and Hurt roads.
