Mr. Albert Wilson “Bud” Pieper passed away, after a valiant battle with emphysema, on Sunday, October 27, 2002, aged eighty-two years. Bud was born on January 28, 1920, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and has lived in the Armstrong-Spallumcheen Valley since 1949. Bud will be lovingly remembered by wife of fifty-seven years, Arlie of Armstrong; sons Chris (Anita), Greg (Cammy) and daughter Sheila all of Armstrong, daughter Jaqui (Keith) Humphrey of Victoria, son Steve (Joan) of Fort St. John and step-son Archie (Lea) McKinnon of Kelowna; sisters Irene West and Jocelyn (Phillip) MacGregor of Kelowna; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Bud was a life member of the Armstrong Curling Club, joining the club in the 1950’s. He was involved in coaching High School curling and on the executive for many years. He enjoyed his garden and always had extra to give away to family and friends. A private family service followed by an open house tea for family and friends will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2002, at the family home, 2555 Dunn Street, Armstrong.
