It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Alfred Denis Walker at The Heron Grove Good Samaritan Care Facility on Thursday June 29, 2017 at the age of 87 years. Denis was born in Hazelmere in the County of Surrey England on January 12, 1930. In passing he will be reunited with his beloved wife of 59 years Mary Jane Walker. Denis is survived by his daughter Angela (Bob) Jacobs, three grandchildren; Peter (Tracey) Jacobs, Paul (Jolene) Jacobs and Crystal Jacobs, five great-grandchildren; Jake, Jessie, Kyle, Hannah, and Cadence, two sisters; Jean Dempsey and Doreen (Brian) William, two brothers; Joseph (Gloria) Walker and Ron (Doreen) Walker and extended family.
Denis will be remembered for his dry English humour, passion for coins, stamps, music, and crib, as well as his love of family.
A Graveside Service will be held at Coldstream Cemetery on Saturday July 22, 2017 at 10:30 AM, friends are welcome to attend. Immediately following the internment a Celebration of Life will be held at the Schubert Centre, Emerald Room 3505 30 Avenue Vernon, BC.
A special thanks to the staff at Heron Grove for their care of Denis. Also a special thankyou to Karen Baker and Connie Burt from Karen’s Loving Hands for the care given to Denis during his time at Heron Grove.
