Allen Arthur Jamieson passed away at Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, BC on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the age of 71 years.
Allen was born at Vernon, BC on July 23, 1937. He began his 52 year career as a Volkswagon mechanic in Vernon and moved to Valley Wagon in Salmon Arm in 1969 and in the 1970’s, became the owner. Allen retired in 1992. He enjoyed fishing, camping, golfing and woodworking. His sense of humour was with him until the very end.
Allen was predeceased by his wife, Georgie in 1997. He will be lovingly remembered by his partner, Jean Wolfe; son, Jim of Salmon Arm; daughter, Faye (Mark) Grieve of White Rock; grandchildren, Colin, Sara, Jeffrey (Kristy), Michael (Kristen), William (Amanda) and Rebekah; three great grandchildren, Malachi, Kaitlyn and Annabell. Also surviving are brothers, Herb (Verna) and Eldie (Lil) and sister, Grace (Ray) Crozman.
A funeral service will be held from the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home on Saturday, January 17th at 1:00 pm with Jack Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Ida Cemetery next to Georgie.
