ANNA BIOLLO (JENNY) GUIDITTA

GUIDITTA (JENNY) ANNA BIOLLO

It is with deep sadness, but also with gratitude and celebration that we inform you of the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grand mother, sister and aunt, Jenny, on November 29, 2004, at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.

She was predeceased by her husband, Amerigo, in 1999, son Leo in 1990, and Kenneth in 1949, and son-in-law, Leonard Bergonder in 1994. Survived by her loving family, daughter Arlene, sons Amerigo, Gerald, and Stephen(Cathy); 5 grandchildren, Darcy Meers, Paul & Kevin Bergonder, Shaun & Jenna Biollo; 3 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Trevor and Natalie Meers. Also 2 sisters, Pauline and Anna (Doug) and one brother Charles (Merrie), and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Camporgiano, Italy on May 15, 1910, she immigrated to Canada in 1919 with her family and settled in the small community of Summerland.

After high school, she married Amerigo Biollo from Penticton. They settled in Trail where Rigo was employed with West Kootenay Power & Light. Eleven years later, they settled in Vernon.

After Rigo’s near fatal accident in 1954, Jenny became an integral part of the business community in Vernon. She started her working career as a clerk in Fullford’s Jewelry Store.

Next she opened and managed a Sweet Sixteen Store for a number of years; then managed John’s House Of Beauty.

During these busy years, her family was still of utmost importance to her. She had many interests, but she was possibly no happier than when she was in her kitchen.

The church community was a very important part of her life. For many years she was involved with the Catholic Women’s League and supported Rigo’s work in The Knights of Columbus.

There will be prayers on Friday evening, Dec 3rd at 7;00 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be on Saturday morning, Dec 4th at 10:30 a.m., both at St. James Church.

Mom, you were the very best. We will certainly miss you, but are grateful for having you in our lives for so long. Bonna Notte.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations in Jenny’s memory to The Heart & Stroke Foundation- 202- 3402 27th Ave. Vernon, BC
