ANNE OBERMEIER

ANNE THERESA OBERMEIER

(nee CURRAN)

August 18th, 1935 – January 29th, 2007

Our beloved friend, Anne Obermeier left us due to a brief illness. She fought hard, as was her nature, but could not win. Although born in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, Eire, Anne came to Vernon as a young woman and never wanted to live anywhere else. This was her community and she truly loved both the people and this place. Anne will be remembered as a farmer, a lifelong gardener, a wonderful mother and a devoted wife. But above all, she was a feisty spirit who was willing to share her energy and resources with those who needed her. She hoped to make a difference. Anne leaves behind her beloved husband, Ben, to whom she was married for 51 years and two daughters, Cheryl of Vernon, B.C. and Susan of Victoria, B.C. She is also survived by her siblings; Mike of Kelowna, B.C., Mary of Vernon, B.C., Katie, Tommy, Eddie and Geraldine, all of Eire. She was predeceased by siblings; Johnny of Eire, Bernadette of U.S.A., Liz of Vernon, B.C. and Peggy of Eire. She leaves behind a large extended family and a community of friends. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Of The Valley Catholic Church on Monday, February 5th, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Father Richard Hanaczewski celebrant. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Anne to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation, 2101-32nd Street, Vernon, B.C.
