Anton Senger

Tony passed away suddenly but peacefully at home Thursday morning. Survived by his loving wife Vera (nee Foote) of 54 years; daughters Diane Barber, Karen (Randy)Jones; sons Tony Jr. (Jennifer) Senger, Doug (Laurone) Senger; Grandchildren; Jeff, Greg & Michael Barber; Tyler Batty, Kristina, Kayla & Cole Senger, Chantelle & Aleisha Senger. Also survived by sisters, Kay Ainsworth, Jenny Hollis, Chris(Donald) Gillard from Penticton; brother Ed (Paula) Senger, Burnaby and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Elizabeth Senger and Mary O’Brien and Son-in-Law Rick Barber. In 1955, Tony started working at S.M. Simpson, which soon became Crown Zellerbach/Fletcher Challenge. After 37 years of employment, he retired as Lumber Sales Manager (Interior Division). Tony achieved many awards for his athletic abilities. In his younger years, he excelled at soccer, basketball and baseball. He was an excellent bowler & golfer and also enjoyed curling. He was a long time member of the Kelowna Golf & Country Club. Tony was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was very proud of his family and he loved helping make great meals at the many family get-togethers. He also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, fishing, hunting and our annual family camping trip. Tony will be sadly missed by his loving family and many friends. He will be forever in our hearts. No funeral by request.

A Celebration of Tony’s Life will be held Saturday, April 19th, 2008 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at the Glenmeadows Clubhouse, #103-615 Glenmeadows Rd., Kelowna, BC, for family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, #4-1551 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 9M9.

A gift in living memory of Tony will be made to “Holding Hands for Hospice” by Springield Funeral Home.
