ARTHUR E. BROWN passed away in the early morning of Tuesday, February 3rd in Armstrong at the age of 91. The first child of Edward Brown and Florence Rose Brown, he was born at Fairmount, Manitoba on March 16, 1912. Arthur first came to the Okanagan Valley in 1935. He married Lily E. Wadsworth August 17, 1943 in Summerland, and settled in Oliver in 1950, raising a family of four boys there. Went to Whitehorse Yukon in 1962, and lived there 15 years before retiring and returning to his home in Oliver in 1977. Predeceased by loving wife Lily in 1993, he remained in Oliver until 1997, and lived the remaining years of his life in Armstrong. He is survived by two sons, David (Mala) of Surrey, and Eldon (Caren) of Armstrong, and two grandchildren, Charity and Jerry Brown of Armstrong. He was predeceased by his two eldest sons, Roy of Vernon in 1997, and Gerald of Canoe in 2002. He is also survived by four sisters, Gladys Sharpe and Marian Ferguson of Minnedosa, MB; Bessie McLean of Strathclair, MB, and Margaret Amey of Maple Ridge, BC. His four younger brothers (Stuart, Lance, Roy & Hugh) all predeceased him. Funeral service 4:00 p.m. Feb. 6 at Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church, PV Road, Armstrong, with interment 1:00 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Oliver Cemetery in Oliver, BC.
