It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beatrix Adelheid Mitchell, age 77, on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in Vernon, BC. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.
Beatrix is survived by her husband, Jimmy Dean; sister, Doris (Zenon); brother, Tom; sons, Gerald (Brett) and Darren (Kate); daughters, Jeanne and Cheryl (Trevor); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Beatrix was born on February 16, 1940 in Leer, Germany. She immigrated to Canada with her family and grew up in Vernon, BC. Beatrix met and married her husband, Jimmy, on August 20, 1964. They enjoyed 52 wonderful years of marriage. Beatrix loved her garden and shared many of her plants and flowers with her friends and family. She even helped them plan their own gardens! She will be forever remembered as a loving and supportive wife and an amazing sister, mother and grandmother.
A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to make memorial contributions in memory of Beatrix may do so to the Upper Room Mission in Vernon at upperroommission.ca
