Benjamin James Lemon

October 14, 1956 – May 13, 2010

Ben (Benji) passed away on May 13, 2010, at the Vernon Hospice, with his wife of 35 years, Lesley, by his side. Predeceased by his father, Ben, in 1995, Ben is survived by his wife Lesley, their daughters Emma and Holly, his mother Anna, sisters Tannis (Robb Ross), Laura (Brock Cheadle) and Letitia (Randy Falk) and his brother John (Darlene) Lemon. His uncle and many cousins, nieces, and nephews in BC, Saskatchewan, and beyond remember him fondly for his sharp wit and sense of fun. Ben was born in Saskatchewan, part of a large extended family, and moved as a young teen with his family to Vernon which has always been “home base”. He spent years traveling the world for Newnes Machine, as a Saw Mill technician. This work allowed him to enjoy his love of travel and new experiences. His passion was sailboats and his dogs. He spent many happy hours on Okanagan Lake with both! A celebration of Ben’s life will be held at Paddle Wheel Hall, on Okanagan Lake in Vernon, on Tuesday, May 25, at 3:00 p.m. In true Ben nature, please dress in bright, casual clothes. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the Staff and Volunteers at the Vernon Hospice, Dr. Johnson and Dr. Henley for their constant support and compassion above and beyond…. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ben’s name may be made to the North Okanagan Hospice Society, 3506-27 Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S4.
