Dr. Betty Jean (Jan) White, (nee Willett). Born February 8, 1933 in Chilliwack B.C., passed away peacefully in Vernon, B.C. surrounded by her loving family on June 5, 2004 at the age of 71. Her work and travel spanned 4 continents and included many different careers, waitress, bookkeeper, legal secretary, accountant, consultant, singer, instructor, judge, teacher, counselor, columnist, writer, publisher, fundraiser, lecturer, director, dispenser, equine appraiser, promoter, clinician, typesetter, designer, mother and volunteer. Her accomplishments and love for horses are unparalleled. Survived by: her sons, Geoffrey White of Vernon, B.C. and Dominic White of Red Deer, AB; her daughter Roma Puig of London England; sister Glenna Metchette of Kelowna. A Celebration of Life will be held at the reception centre of McCulloch Court, 3400 Coldstream Ave., Vernon on Saturday, June 19, 2004 from 1pm to 4pm, all family and friends are welcome.
