Beverly Eunice Mayhew was born in Coaticook, Quebec on December 18, 1918 to Angus and Hattie Mayhew. Beverly grew up in Coaticook and she later worked for Alcan in Montreal and British Guiana. She completed her working life at the University of Toronto. After retiring she lived in Victoria, British Columbia for many years. Over the years her many hours of volunteer work touched many lives.
Beverly was much loved by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, as well as new and lifelong friends. We shall all miss “Auntie Bev”, an elegant, thoughtful and stylish lady who enriched all of our lives.
Beverly was predeceased by her three sisters and two brothers as well as her long time companion Frank Kitching. A celebration of life service and the internment of Beverly’s ashes will be held at All Saints Church, Vernon, British Columbia on July 30, 2009 at 2:00 P.M.
Memorial donations in Beverly’s memory may be made to her favourite charities, The North Okanagan Hospice Society 3506 27 Ave., Vernon B.C. V1T9N6 or The Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation 2101 32nd St. Vernon, B.C. V1T5L2.
The family wish to thank Dr. Hugh Clarke and Dr. Louis Boucher and staff who have cared for Beverly over the past years. There are no words to express our thanks to the staff and volunteers of Hospice House for their loving care and kindness over the last three months.
