Blanche Suzanne Luttmerding passed away peacefully in her sleep at Pleasant Valley Manor on Friday, May 11, 2007, aged 94 years. Blanche was born in Czechoslovakia on May 23, 1912 and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1929, settling in Regina, Sk. She married Arthur Luttmerding on April 23, 1936 and lived on the farm near Francis, Sk., for sixteen years. In 1952, Blanche, Arthur and family moved to their farm in Spallumcheen where she resided until 1998, at which time she moved to Armstrong. She loved to take care of her family and always enjoyed visiting with them. Blanche was an excellent cook, did beautiful needlework, liked to spend time in her garden, especially with her roses and was an avid football and hockey fan. She was active in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and was a long time CWL member. Blanche was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1988, grandson Greg in 1984 as well as her four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her sons Herbert (Mary) of Kelowna, Alfred (Thea), Werner (Michelle) and daughter Audrey (Dave) Heal all of Armstrong; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan. The family would like to acknowledge the special care shown to Blanche by the staff of the Manor. Prayers were recited at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, on Tuesday, May 15 at 7:00 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 AM from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Reverend Father Leo Boyd, O. M. I., Celebrant. Interment will be in the family plot at Armstrong – Spallumcheen Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Variety-The Childrens Charity of BC, 4300 Still Creek Dr., Burnaby BC V5C 6C6.
