Bydlowski Mary

Our beloved and very devoted mother, Mary Bydlowski, peacefully passed away June 13, 2005. Mary was born in Hubinskie Butke, Poland, January 14, 1905. In 1927, Mary and her family immigrated to Canada and settled in Alberta. In 1936, after surviving famine, drought and the Great Depression, they moved to Vernon. She leaves behind to mourn: her son Frank (June) Bydlowski of Vernon, daughters Trudy (John) MacDougall of Campbell River and Elsie (Ken) Bailey of Vernon, as well as 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Stella Haber of Vancouver, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Tony Bydlowski, in October 1953, and her twin infants Wladyslaw and Anna in November 1929. She was also predeceased by her parents, Peter and Julia Haber; brothers Anthony, Lloyd and Joseph, and sisters Barbara, Anna, Antonia, Wladyslawa (Alice), and Anastasia. Mary will be remembered for her devotion to her faith, love of family, “greenthumb” gardening, cooking Polish foods, sewing, crocheting and embroidering. She was a supporter of the C.W.L. since the 1950s and a member of St. James’ Parish since 1936. Prayers were recited on Thursday, June 16 at 6:00 P.M. and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 17, at 10:00 A.M. at St. James’ Roman Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Martin Peyton, celebrant. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Mary to their favourite charity.
