CECILIA LYDIA OLSEN

Cecilia fell asleep in death on Wednesday, March 9th, 2005 at home in Vernon, BC at age 79. She awaits the Resurrection to life on a paradise earth. Cecilia was born Cecilia Lydia Gucinski on November 25th, 1925 at Osiecz Wielki, Poland. She immigrated to Canada in 1928, first living in Biggar, Saskatchewan and then in Vernon, BC. She moved to Ontario in 1943 where she met Lloyd. They married on October 17, 1945 and were together for 57 years. In 1960 they moved to Vancouver Island, raising a young family in Victoria. The family moved to Vernon in 1969 settling on a hobby farm. Her passions were her family, gardening and camping. She will be remembered for her positive attitude, natural cheerfulness, thoughtfulness and warmth. Her appreciation of life fulfilled those around her, and she will be deeply missed.

Cecilia is survived by two sons, Ron (Meow), Terry (Barb), and her sister Elsie Dolson. She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd in 2002, and son Lorne in 1987. Memorial Service will be held Thursday, March 17th, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Vernon, BC.
