FRENCH, Charles Joseph
We regret to announce the sudden passing of Charles Joseph French of Vernon, B.C. on March 2nd, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Charles was predeceased in 1990 by his wife, Sylvia of 46 years; one sister, Arminta Segi and two brothers, Arley and Ken. He is survived by his loving family: two sons, David (Jennifer) of Kelowna and Ken (Barbara) of Victoria, one daughter, Sandra (Jim) Rathjen of Kelowna, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one brother, Gordon (Bea) of Enderby, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and his loving companion of the past fourteen years, Mary Newcomb. Charles was involved in the Knights of Pythias for many years. Following retirement in 1984 from the Federal Civil Service, he enjoyed many years of volunteer work with the Vernon Science Centre and the Day Break Adult Day Centre. He also spent many enjoyable times with friends and family, camping, fishing, golfing and bowling.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 13th, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.from the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home.
A reception will follow in the Pleasant Valley Tea Room.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to:
