CHESTER LUCZAK

MR. CHESTER LUCZAK was

called Home to be with his Lord

on Tuesday, April 19th, 2005

at the age of 80 years. He will

be lovingly remembered by his

wife Eleonora, to whom he was

happily married for 54 years, his

son and daughter-in-law, Erik &

Sandra of Winnipeg, Manitoba,

his daughter, Renate (Dana) of

Vernon, B.C., three grandchildren; Erica Keen, Heidi

(Matthew) Bergren and Jason Keen, four great-grandchildren;

Carringdwen, Birghid, Quinn and Sequay,

two sisters; Mary Roberts of Winnipeg, Manitoba and

Wanda Janitzka of Poland and his nephew, Bernard

Roberts of Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was predeceased

by his parents and three brothers. Chester was born

in Bukownica, Poland on March 25th, 1925. He went

to school until the age of 15 and then his entire family

was taken by force to Germany to do hard labor for

fi ve years. After the Liberation in 1945, he joined the

American Army, remaining with them until 1950. He

then married Eleonora and immigrated to Canada. They

lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba for 40 years and raised

two children. He was steadily employed as a welder.

In 1990 he retired and moved to Vernon. Chester

enjoyed gardening and was very creative with designing

metal objects such as chandeliers and candlestick

holders. He spoke three languages: Polish, German

and English. Cremation preceded the Funeral Service

which will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church on

Sunday, April 24th, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend

Roy White offi ciating. As an expression of sympathy,

those who wish to do so may send donations in

memory of Chester to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital

Endowment Foundation, designated for Noric House,

2101-32nd Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 9Z9. The family

wishes to thank the staff at Noric House for all the

loving care they gave to Chester during his time there.
