Kiehlbauch, Clarence Theodore

It is with great sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of Clarence at the Penticton Regional Hospital on Wednesday May 3, 2017 at the age of 89. He is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife June (née Battey) of 63 years; daughter Diane (John) Green of West Kelowna; grandchildren, Lore Green of Edmonton, AB, Jeffrie Green of West Kelowna and his fiancée Alyssa Ganje of West Kelowna, presently attending university in Saskatoon, SK. Clarence is also survived by his sister Eva Brown of Lantzville, BC; brother Larry (Marilyn) Kiehlbauch of Edmonton, AB; sister-in-law Carol Nicholson of Vernon, BC and many extended family members. Clarence was born on March 8, 1928 in Carrot Creek, AB, the third of 5 Children born to Eugene and Caroline Kiehlbauch. He went to work at a young age and worked at several jobs including driving bus and taxi in Kamloops and Vernon. Early in their marriage he and June picked and packed a lot of apples at orchards throughout the valley. He drove for Greyhound for 30 years, retiring in 1987 after an interesting and rewarding career. During those years he was on the road so much June considered herself a “grass widow” and was always so happy to see him arrive home to help with the orchard. Clarence and June enjoyed a long and happy retirement, always maintaining a beautiful home and gardens. Cremation has taken place. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
