MIKALISHEN

With great sadness we announce the passing of DANIEL (Dan) MIKALISHEN, at the age of 55, on February 21st, 2007 at Vernon Jubilee Hospital, Vernon, B.C. Dan will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his mother, Betty, of Vernon, B.C.; his sisters: Elaine (Billy) Haner of Vernon, Karen Mikalishen (Allan) of Vernon, and his brother, Larry (Jamie) Mikalishen of Las Vegas, Nevada. Nieces and nephews, Shawn and Melissa Haner, Kyle and Karly Raddysh, Skylar and Memphis Mikalishen, great-nephews, Oakley Haner and Cohen Raddysh, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins further survive him. His father, William (Bill) Mikalishen predeceased him in 2005. Dan was born in Vernon April 2nd, 1951 and made his home in Kamloops before moving to Vernon in December 2006 to spend his remaining days close to family. Dan was employed with CP Rail as a conductor/yard foreman and retired in 2001 with 30 years of service. In his younger years Dan was active in sports, especially hockey, and he loved to golf. Dan played guitar and enjoyed jamming with his friends. In his retirement Dan enjoyed cheering on the Canucks and also spent many contented hours walking along the river bank with his dog Nikki. A Celebration of Dan’s life will be held Saturday March 3rd, 2007 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., at the home of his sister, Karen, #28, 9510 Hwy. 97 N. (across from Westside Road/Fintry turnoff), Vernon, B.C. with interment of Dan’s cremated remains to be held at the family plot in Grindrod, B.C. at a later date.
