David Greenan

July 29, 1946 - January 16, 2024

In Loving Memory ~

"Their song has ended, but their melody lives on."

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of David and Barbara Greenan of Vernon, B.C. Cancer took them both, and in true Dave and Barb style, they did everything together, including fighting cancer until the very end.

Dave and Barb met in Burnaby when they were 17 and 15 years old. They married in 1967 and spent the next 57 years navigating life's ups and downs together.

Initially residing in Burnaby, Dave's career path led them to relocate numerous times, moving to Coquitlam, Penticton, Grand Forks and Mission, before finally settling in Vernon. There, they spent many hours golfing, skiing, hiking, biking and boating with family and friends.

After retirement, Dave and Barb purchased a home in Chandler, Arizona, and became 'snowbirds', spending their summers in Vernon, and the majority of the winter seasons in Arizona. Though they always made sure to be home in Vernon for Christmas, and to get a few runs in up at Silver Star.

Dave and Barb are survived by their children Glenn (Noreen), Stacey, Craig (Jenifer), six grandchildren Zach (Jamilla), Henna (Dale), Ethan, Damon, Paige and Liam, and their great-grandson, Leon.

Dave is also survived by his brother Don (Patricia), and Barb by her siblings Murray (Patricia) and Marie (Wayne).

They will be remembered for their kindness and love for their family and friends.

We wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of the staff and volunteers at the North Okanagan Hospice Society for their care, kindness and compassion.

Thank you to everyone at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Cancer Clinic, and Dr. Humphries' and Dr. Rankin's office for the care and kindness shown to Dave and Barb during their treatments.

For those who wish to remember Dave and Barb, or share any memories, a Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, May 5th, between 2 and 5 pm at Vernon Golf and Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the North Okanagan Hospice Society, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
