DeBOICE JAMES

It is with great sadness that our families acknowledge the passing of James (Jim) DeBoice on March 7, 2003 after his battle with cancer. Jim was predeceased by: his parents, Ubert (Butch) and Antoinette (Anne), one sister, Mary and only brother, Joe (WW2). He leaves to always love and remember him, his wife Loraine, son Brian (Brenda and grandson Brad) DeBoice, Rick (Janet Yaremchuck) DeBoice, Daughters Deb (Ted and grandson Cy) Rowland, Cheryl (Rob and grandson Joe Davis) DeBoice, first wife Phyllis, Stepdaughters, Deanna (Ken and step granddaughter Ayla) Becotte, Lorinda (Wally and step grandchildren Owen, Allison and Bethany) Halford, Marlana (Jason Murray) Becotte, sisters Josie Der and Anne Clarke and their families, and many, many friends. Jim was born in Kerrobert Sask. August 21, 1931 and grew up in Saskatchewan towns like DenZil, Humboldt and Saskatoon, before moving to Edmonton. In 1968 the family made their move to Vernon. Jim was employed at Coca-Cola, Crown Zellerbach and Vernon Jubilee Hospital where he retired from after many years of service. Whether it was at Vernon first flea market, Uncle Jim’s Treasures, the Junk Jungle or weekend yard sales, you could find him and Loraine enjoying their favourite pastime together. Jim was an active participant in the early days of recycling in the city as well as local Rock and Lapidary Clubs, the Vernon Collectors Club and the Pigeon and Poultry Club. He leaves us far too soon but has allowed us to express our love and thanks for him. Always in our hearts and souls and never forgotten. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2003 at The Eagles Hall (5101-25 Ave. Vernon) with Reverend Mark DeVolder officiating. Friends wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Jim to BC Cancer Society (104, 3402-27 Ave. Vernon, V1T 1S1). Arrangements are in the care of COATES FUNERAL SERVICE 558-0866.
