Donald (Don) Calvert

Born in England, December 14, 1920, Donald (Don) Calvert passed away January 20, 2007, in Vernon, British Columbia, aged eighty-six,

the last of his parental family. From age fifteen

Don served with the British Army, Rifle Brigade,

throughout Europe and the Middle East.

He lived in the North Okanagan area since 1956 and was a carpenter by trade. Don loved camping and the outdoors and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Volunteered at Upper Room Mission, Vernon, for approximately twelve years and delivered the sermon before the meal. Served as missionary in Asia, 1987-1988, where he met and married his wife, Virginia. Don is survived by: wife, Virginia; sons Donald James Calvert, Vernon; Vernon Ross Calvert, Prince George, Colin Vaugh Calvert, Squamish. Service of Remembrance will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2007,

at the Vernon Family Church, 3508 25th

Avenue, Vernon, with the Rev. Dithmar Molzahn officiating. Interment of cremated remains at the Vernon City Cemetery.
