Donald Lawrence Mclearn of Armstrong, BC, crossed his final bridge on May 15, 2017 with family by his side at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital.

Donald, known to many over the years as Don, Mac, Burley and even Santa Claus, impacted the lives of many over his 76 years. From his birthplace in Truro, NS, Don worked his way from east to west building bridges and heavy construction along the way, eventually to settle in the Okanagan Valley.

Don was a family man and great friend to many. Over the years, if at anytime he needed your opinion he would give it to you! Don worked for Newnes Machine Ltd. for many years building sawmill pieces and then travelling to install them around western Canada. He started a new page in the early 90s with the IPE in Armstrong as the grounds manager. For many years there he made an impression on many lives from the crews of students that worked every year to the vendors and exhibitors that he welcomed back every year.

A Celebration of his Life and chance to share stories will be held at a later date.
