Duff (Adolf Wilfred)
Goodbye GranDuff, we miss your
humour and love.
On May 15, 2010, Duff (Adolf Wilfred) Plato of Vernon, B.C. passed away suddenly at his home in Vernon, British Columbia. Duff will be lovingly missed by his wife of 53 years, Susan, his children Deborah (Immo), Brenda (David) and Jeffrey (Cheryl). He will also be fondly missed by his 2 granddaughters; Natalie and Tess and his 3 grandsons; Ethan, Jarad and Sawyer.
Duff was born in Leader, Saskatchewan on November 14, 1931 to Ewald and Bertha Plato. He grew up on a large family farm outside Ponoka, Alberta with his sisters, Erma (Arthur), Ruth, Shirley (Jim) and Bernie (Al) and his brother Charlie.
Duff attended Concordia high school in Edmonton and continued his education at the University of Alberta earning his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering. He enjoyed many successful years with McGregor Construction and retired as President in 2001 after 32 years.
Duff married Susan in 1956 and had three children. He loved golfing with his foursome and skiing with family and friends while squeezing in time to work on his home and yard. His subtle and warm sense of humour made people feel comfortable and welcome at all times.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
