Edna Liske passed away peacefully June 22, 2004, at the Vernon Hospice House at the young age of 81 years after her 3rd challenge with cancer. Edna was born in the Boulton Municipality near Inglis, MB., and had lived in Winnipeg for many years where she worked as a dental receptionist with Dr. Rudisaile and was a devoted Avon Lady for which she received many awards for achievement. She retired to Vernon in 1987 and had many interests, her church and mission work took priority. She loved to sew and share with children in 3rd world countries and was very busy at the “blue house”. She was active in the Bosom Buddies, and enjoyed travel. She played scrabble and loved to entertain with her friends and cook for anyone who wanted to visit. Edna’s memory will live on in the hearts of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by: Hazel (Richard) Seidl of Salmon Arm, Evelyn (Norman) Stewart of Russel, MB, Doris (Art) Brandt of Assiniboia, Sk. Violet (Howard) Motheral of Winnipeg, MB., Donalda (George) Kelk, Toronto, Ont., Melford (Elsie) Liske, Abbotsford, BC., Jack Liske, Winnipeg, MB.; a sister-in-law, Gerda Schmidt, 51 nieces and nephews and many, many friends. She was predeceased at an early age by her mother, Natalie and late by her father Louie, brother Norman and sister Ena Cummings. She had no children of her own, but, had more children than anyone could count. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 26, 2004 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1802 – 45th Ave. Vernon, BC with Pastor Bruce Boyde officiating. Interment will follow in Vernon City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vernon Hospice House. Arrangements are in the care of PERSONAL ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL SERVICE. 558-0866.
