‘Ted’ James

1922 – 2008

Ted Eglese, born June 9th, 1922,

passed away peacefully on December

7th, 2008 with his beloved family by

his side.

He was born in Calgary, raised in

Gleichen, Alberta, and then moved with his family to Calgary,

Alberta in 1937. He was educated at Brentwood College near

Victoria, B.C. When World War II broke out, Ted joined the

navy and served on the Corvette Calgary in the North Atlantic.

Following the war, he married Rita and started working in the

oil patch. After living throughout Alberta and B.C., they settled

in Calgary where Ted started his own drilling fl uids business.

They retired to Vernon, B.C. in 1983. Ted loved to golf and they

traveled the world extensively.

Ted is survived by his loving wife Rita of 61 years; his children:

J. Robin Pattie (Brian), Mike (Brenda), David (Karan), Robert

(Karen); seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Ted

was predeceased by his parents, who immigrated to Canada

from England in 1904.

A Memorial Tea will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2008

from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Regency Court, 3300 Centennial Drive,

Vernon, B.C.
