EDYTHE IONE (nee Major) of Chase, BC, passed away suddenly at her home on Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at the age of 74 years. Edythe was born in Lumby, BC on May 5, 1929. She was a loving wife for 45 years. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family and friends. Edythe will be remembered for her wonderfully delicious home baked pies and beautiful works of art. She was a talented painter and enjoyed all kinds of crafts including ceramics, knitting and crocheting. She loved her garden and spent many hours outside. Edythe’s kindness and generosity touched the lives of many and will be sadly missed. Edythe was predeceased by a son, Allan in 1979 and brothers, Gordon James in 2000 and Edwin Major in 2002. She is survived by her loving family; husband, Leslie Haycock, her son, Barton (Lana) Haycock of Lethbridge, Alberta, her daughter, Violet (Kelvin) Johnson of Prince George, BC, grandchildren, Deanna, Carsen, Jessalyn and Rebecca, brothers, Howard James of Lumby, BC, George (Jean) Major of Vernon, BC, Melvin (Linda) Major of Vernon, BC, Harold (Lola) Major of Lumby, BC, sister in law, Gwen Major of Lumby, BC also numerous nieces and nephews. If friends and families so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 25, 2003 at 11:00 from St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Chase, BC, with Reverend Hubert Butcher officiating.
