Eileen Dedora

The world lost a truly, beautiful woman, our “Earth Angel” at 4:40 a.m. on Saturday, the 19th day of November. Eileen, Mom and Grandma passed away in a State of Grace with God, peacefully and painlessly with daughter Anne lying at her side.

When Emma Conroy died at an early age, Eileen (the oldest of six children), took on the responsibility of helping to raise the family. Sisters Mildred, Mary and Bernice are still with us today, while a re-union has taken place in Heaven with June and Tom.

Eileen recently celebrated her 87th Birthday and her 60th Wedding Anniversary to Dad and Grandpa… John (“Johnny”) Victor Dedora. “Johnny” looks forward to re-uniting with his bride and soul mate in Heaven knowing full well that she will have everything organized and ready for him.

Mom gave birth to the four of us…Brian, Rick, Patrick and Anne and with Dad, loved and nurtured us through the trials, tribulations, joys and sorrows of childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. Her love, caring and support was unwavering.

Mom was the perfect role model for and contributed greatly to the development of the four, finest grandchildren on earth. Elise and Taylor (Rick and Liz Nixon), Mary and William (Patrick and Susan) will miss Grandma Dedora. However, they embody much that was so wonderful about their Grandma… Intelligent, articulate, confident, gracious, university graduates who are responsible and focussed young women and men. The gene pool continues…A beautiful legacy for this Earth!

Eileen’s life was rich and full. All who knew her, loved her and all she knew, she loved and cared for, deeply. Mom had a “special way” that warmed the hearts of every one who knew her.

The lives of the patrons at “Johnny’s Grill”, her business clients and Real Estate sales colleagues, the members of the Catholic Women’s League (Local and Diocesan President), the Missionaries, Priests, and Nuns she so generously supported, her friends of 18 years in Palm Desert, and all her local “bosom buddies” were enriched and enhanced by their relationship and interaction with Eileen.

Eileen’s brothers-in-law (John and Ralph), sister-in-law (Marg), and the “hordes” of Californian, Albertan and British Columbian nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews have all called to lament her passing and to express their love and gratitude for being privileged to have had Mom in their lives.

Please join us as Mom wanted it, for prayers, Thursday, November 24th at 6:00 p.m. and for her Catholic Mass of Burial on Friday, November 25th, at 10:00 a.m. all to be held in St. James Catholic Church.

Our “Earth Angel,” The “Lady Eileen,” loving and faithful wife, Mother and Grandma will be buried in her chosen plot in the Vernon Cemetery with a reception following in the St. James Parish Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation.

Respectfully, John, Brian, Rick, Patrick (Susan), Anne, Elisse, Taylor, Mary and William Dedora.
