ELMER GOERLITZ

Mr. Elmer James Goerlitz was born on September 4th, 1916 at Calgary, Alberta, the youngest child of Adam & Mary (Kaiser) Goerlitz and passed away on February 10th, 2007 in the Gateby Intermediate Care Residence at the age of 91 years. Elmer’s parents emigrated to Canada from Saratov, Russia in 1898, homesteading at De Winton, Alberta. Elmer was raised on the farm and later continued on farming some of the original homestead land until he retired to Vernon, B.C. in 1966. He never married and will always be remembered for his appreciation of the simpler things in life, for his dry sense of humour and his engaging smile. Elmer will be remembered by his sister, R. Florence Rose who is 96 years old and resides in Eugene, Oregon as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters; Mary

Schneidmiller, Frank Goerlitz, Peter Goerlitz, Lydia Rushmer, Elizabeth Bechtold, Millie Luft and Danny Gerlitz. While living in the Vernon area Elmer loved growing grapes for a hobby and greatly enjoyed the mild climate of the Okanagan. A Graveside Service
