Erna Annalise

It is with great sadness that

her family announces the passing of

their mother, Erna Annalise Harter

(nee: Strossenreuther) on December

16th, 2008 at the age of 84 years.

Erna was born on December 28th, 1923 in Diespeck, Germany

where she lived until 1954 when she came to Canada with her

three sons to be with her husband, Willy, who came in 1953. Later

on, Erna and Willy had a daughter to complete their family. Erna

loved many things in life; her children and being an Oma to her

grandchildren. She delighted in sewing, knitting, crocheting,

needlework and crafts. Erna was faithful to her Lord. She loved

teaching Sunday School to the nursery and kindergarten children

and enjoyed singing in the choir at Faith Baptist Church where she

was a member for many years.

Erna will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter,

Lorraine (Terry) Nickel of Vernon; her sons, Karl (Femmy) of

Sherwood Park, Bill, and Rudy (Bonnie) of Fort Saskatchewan,

Alberta. She is further survived by nine grandchildren: Christina,

Tracy, Roy, Allen, Melissa, Larry, Sherry, Bruce and Kevin; six

great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild; three sisters:

Sieglinde, Katie and Herta; two brothers, Siegfried and George

as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Germany. She was

predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Willy; her mother, Kuni;

her father, Johann and two sisters, Frieda and Marianne.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, December

29th, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 3908-27th Street,

Vernon, B.C., with Pastor E. Brandt offifi ciating. In lieu of flfl owers,

those friends wishing to make memorial contributions in memory

of Erna may do so to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

at www.jdrf.ca or call 1-877 cure 533, or to the Vernon Jubilee

Hospital Endowment Fund, 2101-32nd Street, Vernon, B.C., V1T
