We regret to announce the passing of FRANCES A. BLAINE on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at the Polson Extended Care Unit in Vernon. Frances was born in North Bend, Washington, USA on July 25, 1917, to Frank and Anges Turhune. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Blaine, in 1980 and is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Murphy of Washington, USA. Frances was a professional dance instructor in her younger years and also an artist, designing and creating fashion apparel. During World War II, she drew the illustrations in instruction manuals for the Department of Defense. Frances was also a member of local square dance clubs, the Schubert Line Dancers of Vernon, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 25. Cremation. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, August 3rd, at 10:00 AM in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Polson Multi-Level Unit, 2101 32nd Street, Vernon, BC, V1T 5L2. Arrangements have been entrusted to the PLEASANT VALLEY FUNERAL HOME (250-542-4333).
