Frances Violet Main
We regret to announce the death at Hospice House on October 6, 2007, of Frances V. Main, at the young age of 85 years. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who moved to Vernon in 1946 and has resided here since. She was an active member of the community, her church, civic organizations and sports groups, holding executive positions in many of them. Frances was predeceased by her husband, Percy; a grandson, Jayson Main; and eight siblings. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sons: Don (Joanne) and Reg (Gail), six grandsons and two granddaughters, seven great grandsons and one great granddaughter. Frances is also survived by two brothers: Ralph and Hank (Alice); three sisters: Hanna (Larry), Louise, and Alice (Bill) and their families. A private family graveside committal will be held on Monday, October 15, at 11:30 A.M., and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. at Cornerstone Bible Church, 4611 – 23 St., with the Reverend Larry Woelke officiating.
A special “Thank You” to Hospice House for their kindness, and for the respect given Mom to make her comfortable and special. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Frances to Vernon and District Hospice House (Building Fund), 3506 – 27 Ave., V1T 1S4.
