FRANK CLEVERLEY

OCTOBER 22, 1928 – AUGUST 16, 2017

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Frank Cleverley at 88 years of age. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Margaret Cleverley, 2 brothers, Jim and Ron, 3 sisters, Gwen, Addie, and Loriene, 2 grandsons, Gary and Darren James, and one great grandson, Ian Cleverley. He will be lovingly remembered by Connie, his wife of 66 years, his 4 children, Randy Cleverley, Tim (Carrol) Cleverley, Brenda (Gary) James, Carol (Robin) Edwards, grandchildren Travis, Steve and Brad Cleverley, Clint, Clay and Curtis Cleverley, Trevor and Skyla James and 11 great-grandchildren. He will also be dearly missed by his brother Don (Myrna) Cleverley, sister Maddie (John) Breti, brother-in-law Denny (Gail) Cockwill, numerous nieces and nephews, special “adopted “ family, John & Louise Roberts, as well as many friends.

Frank was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved spending time with family, camping, fishing or finding new trails to explore on the quads. He was an avid gardener and a true farmer at heart, always insisting anyone in his home was being fed. He loved music and added his beautiful tenor voice at family gatherings with his sisters on their accordions, or his daughters with their guitars. He will be remembered for his fun loving nature and sense of humour. Although he had bouts with cancer for 35 years, he was amazing for his age. This past winter he still went ice fishing with his quad up at Becker Lake, and as recently as June, he and Connie loaded up the boat and got out fishing a few times. He felt lucky to have had a good long life with Connie. He was happy with the life they built from their meager beginnings, and proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved so much.

True to his private nature, and according to his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Those who wish to, may make a donation to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society in his memory.

The family would like to thank the staff at Vernon Jubilee Hospital for their care of Frank over the years
